			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When making bakery dough, whether for bread or rolls, one of the most important steps is to knead dough, which produces an incredible tasty treat.  Many people are scared of this step so they under or over knead the dough, which leads to problems.  While not complicated, there is a right and wrong way to make bread. Here we’ve provided you with insight so you can end up with perfect bread or rolls every time.</p>
<p>As you go through a variety of dough recipes, you will see that those with yeast as a part of the dough ingredients require kneading.  However, most recipes give no real instructions into what that means or how to deal with dough that comes out too dry or sticky.  Therefore, the following information will allow you to use your baking dough, again for bread, rolls, or even making pizza dough and turn it into a mouth-watering masterpiece.</p>
<p>The process involved to knead dough is done for a specific reason, developing gluten.  As water and flour mix, gluten forms and builds in strength.  The best way to look at gluten is as a type of binding agent that would allow the bread, rolls, or pizza crust to begin taking on correct texture and shape.  For this reason, there has to be the right balance of water and flour or the gluten process would not work and the finished food would be gooey or dry.</p>
<p>To get started in making baking dough, whether making it by hand or with a mixer, once the required amount of water and flour has been added, you will need to work the dough by hand on a flat surface that has been sprinkled with flour.  The best way to be sure the proportions are correct, is to get your hands moist, and then press down the center of the dough after it has risen.  Squeeze the dough to see how it feels.  If the dough gives too much, not feeling like there is any firmness, then it needs more flour. On the other hand, if you have to work hard to squeeze it, it has too much flour.</p>
<p>After making minor adjustments, adding just a little extra water or flour until the consistency of the flour dough is firm but not overly firm; you are ready to start kneading.  With your hands re-moistened but not too wet, place the ball of dough on the floured surface.  Stretch the dough out and then fold it over, pushing down and squeezing it.  The kneading process should be done for about 20 to 25 minutes by hand, changing into a light golden brown color with a satiny and uniform finish.  At that point, the dough is ready to be shaped and baked.</p>
<p>Now, if you want to knead dough using the mixer, the process would take about eight minutes but by food processor, it would take about one to five minutes.  Although creating the perfect flour dough takes work for kneading, it would not be good unless this process is done.  Once the fresh pizza dough, homemade rolls, or bread comes out of the oven, you will see that the effort has paid off.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes, conventional fresh pizza dough is not enough.  While pizza is delicious, if you want a change off and on, you can jazz up the flavors easily and using a variety of dough ingredients.  Making pizza dough should be a pleasant experience, one that allows you to be creative while coming up with deep flavors that everyone would love.  Again, you could stick with a standard recipe for the kids or think outside the box when entertaining.</p>
<p>To make standard fresh pizza dough, why now make baking dough that tastes just like one of the largest pizza chains.  For this, you need one and one-third cups of warm water, one-half teaspoon salt, four cups flour, one-third cup oregano, one tablespoon sugar, one-third teaspoon garlic salt, one small packet of yeast, and two tablespoons olive oil.  For this pizza crust dough, you want to dissolve the yeast in the water and set it aside.</p>
<p>Then, in a large bowl, mix the flour, oregano, salt, sugar, garlic salt, and olive oil, mixing by hand with a fork.  With everything well mixed, shape the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and set on the countertop away from drafts overnight.  The following day, sprinkle flour onto a table or countertop and place the ball of fresh pizza dough on top.  With a rolling pen, begin to roll the dough out into a circle.  When done, place the baking dough onto a well-greased pizza pan. A deep dish is best.  Preheat the oven to 425, top the pizza with sauce and other ingredients you want, bake 20 to 20 minutes, and enjoy.</p>
<p>To jazz up the fresh pizza dough for something unique, all you need to do is make the recipe mentioned.  After the dough rises in about two to four hours, it would be punched down.  Then, knead dough into the flavoring of choice.  The dough would be refrigerated for 20 minutes, followed by rolling it out on flour.  You may find that depending on the flavoring you choose, the dough’s texture might become sticky.  In this case, simply add one-quarter flour in while kneading.</p>
<p>Okay, so what things you would want to add to create unique dough ingredients?  Things such as prosciutto, Italian sausage, chopped scallions, a mixture of dried rosemary, sage, type, and marjoram, parmesan cheese, sesame seeds, and small bits of onion are just a few examples.  If you are extra creative, then you could place slices of mozzarella cheese along the edge of the fresh pizza dough, fold over, and seal.  That way, the pizza would now be a stuffed cheese crust that when bit into would ooze delicious cheese.</p>
<p>One final note on making fresh pizza crust, regardless of if you stick with a basic recipe or go all out with additional flavors has to do with getting a nice bottom crush.  To keep the flour dough from sticking to the pizza pan, sprinkle the bottom with cornmeal.  What happens is the cornmeal stops the bottom of the pizza from sticking while also creating a nice crunch that enhances the overall flavor.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Kids – they love to play, they love being creative, and they seem to be always putting something in their mouth.  One solution that you might consider is to make edible play dough.  While you could go out and buy commercial Play Doh, making your own dough recipe is inexpensive, easy, and lots of fun for everyone.  Keeping homemade play dough around the house will ensure there is always something for the kids to do. </p>
<p>A great example of dough ingredients to make edible play dough includes one cup of honey, one cup of powdered milk, one cup of peanut butter, and one cup of cocoa.  Of course, if any of the kids have a food allergy to peanut butter, you can eliminate this from the recipe and substitute it with something else.  To make this sweet dough, simply measure out the peanut butter and place in a bowl.  Next, measure the honey, cocoa, and powdered milk into a bowl, adding to the peanut butter and then mix well.</p>
<p>Once the dough ingredients have been mixed, you need to spread the mixture out on the table.  With clean hands and a variety of cookie cutter shapes, let the kids start creating shapes.  In addition to creating letters, numbers, animals, characters, flowers, and other shapes, the kids can eat what they make.  The ingredients are nutritious so while they play, they also get a nice snack.  If you want, you could also add a cup of rice crispy cereal to the edible play dough ingredients to give it a different texture.</p>
<p>Another fun thing to do when making edible play dough is to add Kool Aid.  For this, you would need four cups of water, five cups flour, one cup of salt, two tablespoons cream of tartar, six tablespoons vegetable oil, and four packets of your favorite Kool Aid.  Keep in mind, while this type of edible play dough is not intended as a snack, it is made with regular bakery dough ingredients so if the kids get it in their mouth, it is quite okay.</p>
<p>Begin by bringing the water to a boil, followed by turning the stove off and letting the water cool off just a little.  While the water cools, mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar, and powdered Kook Aid in a large bowl.  Slowly, drizzle the oil into the mixture, continuing to stir.  After all the dough ingredients are blended well, add the water that is now warm.  Keep mixing until dough has formed, thereafter allow cooling.</p>
<p>Once the edible play dough is cool enough for you to handle, knead dough for five to ten minutes or until it has a smooth texture and is easy to work with.  At that point, the edible play dough is done and ready for the kids to start making things with while you sit back and watch.  After the kids have finished using their creative minds, the edible play dough can be collected and placed in an airtight plastic container and stored in the refrigerator.  This batch should last for a couple of weeks, after which time you can make another batch or choose a different type of edible play dough.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the most delicious and unique breads is sourdough.  You will find hundreds of different versions of sour dough recipes, some easier to make than others.  However, no matter the dough ingredients, to make this particular type of bread, you need what is called a starter.  A starter has have been used for hundreds of years with two specific purposes, to help leaven the bread and to add the unique flavor that sourdough offers.</p>
<p>In addition to bread made with this baking dough, you also need to make a starter for making sourdough pancakes, muffins, rolls, biscuits, cookies, and even cakes.  The key to creating sour dough recipes that are consistently delicious, you need to learn how to make a good starter.  The good news is that while this is a critical step, it is also a very easy step.  To make homemade starter, you want to follow some important tips.  For one thing, make sure the water used is not chlorinated since chlorine destroys the organisms needed so instead choose filtered, distilled, or bottled water.</p>
<p>In addition, starter is great for bakery dough made with unprocessed grains.  Most people will use rye flour or whole wheat flour to get started and once you have the starter going, you can consider using all-purpose or bread flour.  The most common mistake making sour dough starter is allowing the yeast to starve in the first one to three days.  Whether the starter has activity or not, it has to be fed and if not, you would end up with mold or a glob that would be unusable.</p>
<p>Once the starter for future dough ingredients is done, it should be stored in a ceramic or glass container, and kept at room temperature.  Regarding cover, all you need is a damp piece of cheesecloth or if you prefer, you can keep a lid on as long as it is kept loose.  When the starter is done, it would look similar to pancake batter but with some foam.  You would notice the sour smell associated with sour dough recipes and in some cases, it might separate, which just needs to be tired.</p>
<p>Now, if the odor coming from your baking dough starter smells foul, not sour, if it is any color other than off white or light yellow, or if any mold grows, then you would need to start the process over.  In addition, if you at any time notice a void of bubbles, the starter should be pitched.  To feed the starter so you can get started with using different sour dough recipes, simply add flour and water in the same amount of starter.  In other words, if you have one cup of starter, then every six to eight hours, add one cup of water and one cup of flour.</p>
<p>For people that bake sourdough bread in large quantities, feeding starter as mentioned would produce enough to make some of the most amazing yeast bread dough.  However, if you simply want enough of the starter to bake a loaf now and then, you could store the starter in the refrigerator, covered.  Even with this, it would be important to feed it when it is most active or bubbling.  From there, you simply choose the recipe you want to try, use the amount of starter required, and enjoy the world’s most delicious bread.</p>

If not, the dough would not end up with the right texture.  This step is essential for flour dough to bake correctly, which is why it is considered the most important part of the process.</p>
<p>The process involved to knead dough is what produces gluten, giving the dough strength, form, and texture.  Gluten serves as a type of binding agent so as the baking dough goes into the oven, it does not lose its shape.  Therefore, if you want to make delicious bread at home, it is imperative that you go through the kneading process correctly.  One of the most common mistakes people make is kneading the bread too long or not long enough, which means the baked bread or pizza dough, would not bake, as it should.</p>
<p>In addition to creating gluten, this process also serves to make small pockets of air.  These tiny bubbles help with the formation of carbon dioxide during the phase of rising.  The bubbles along with the yeast and other dough ingredients work together so as the bread rises, it gains texture and form while allowing the inside of the baked bread to be light and airy.</p>
<p>For yeast bread dough to come out perfectly, you would need to knead dough for 20 to 30 minutes by hand, 8 to 10 minutes using a mixer, and only 1 to 5 minutes with a food processor.  To determine if the bread has been worked for the appropriate amount of time, you would notice the color turning light golden brown and the feel of the dough would be neither too firm nor too gooey.</p>
<p>Again, when making flour dough with yeast, you have to knead the dough or your entire recipe would fail.  If the dough has not been worked long enough, it would end up gooey and moist.  This would result in bread being flat and gooey on the inside.  If the dough were worked too long, then it would be dry and stiff.  In this case, the tiny bubbles to create light and airy bread would not be produced, meaning the baked bread would come out of the oven dry and heavy.</p>
<p>Now, in addition to choosing baking dough that you would have to knead, you can also choose to make no-knead bread.  This type of bread is usually associated with cultural bread such as products found in France.  This bread is meant to be flat and crispy, giving it a unique flavor and texture.<br />
While producing gluten in most yeast recipes is the reason for this process, when making no-knead bread, the same gluten creation is not needed.  Both types of bread taste incredible but each is distinct. From that point, you could add M&amp;Ms, chocolate chips, nuts, licorice, fruit flavored candy or literally, whatever sounds good.</p>

<p>First, to make the perfect yeast dough bread, you need to make sure the yeast is fresh (not expired).  Then, no matter the type of yeast chosen, rapid rise or traditional, you can help activate it so your bread will rise better.  If the recipe calls for milk, then measure it in a measuring cup but do not rinse the cup and if the recipe does not call for milk, pour about one teaspoon of milk into a measuring cup. </p>
<p>Then, if you are using sugar, use the same un-rinsed measuring cup and if the recipe does not call for sugar, add about one-eighth of a teaspoon into the measuring cup.  You would then add the amount of yeast and water needed according to baking dough recipe, again putting it into the measuring cup.  As you let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes, it will begin to bubble, which is what you want.  At that point, follow the instructions and when done, you will have beautiful, high bread.</p>
<p>Another great secret for yeast bakery dough is to always use aluminum pans.  The reason is that as the break bakes, it will come out with a beautiful golden brown crust.  If you use traditional pans, those made from dark metal or glass tends to absorb more heat than aluminum does.  Because of this, the crust of the bread would come out darker than you probably want. </p>
<p>You can also change up yeast bread dough to create crust of different texture.  As an example, if you like bread or rolls that are crisp, then brushing the dough just slightly with water prior to baking would help.  On the other hand, if you like a hard crust on your bread, then you can set a pan of water on the bottom of the oven.  On the other hand, for soft dough, simply brush a little melted butter or milk onto the bread but this time, after it has baked.  Finally, if you want a beautiful presentation, you can add shine to the bread dough by brushing a mixture of one egg and one tablespoon of water mixed on before baking.</p>
<p>You will also find that if you take the bread out of the pan five minutes after removing it from the oven, you will find your yeast bread dough does not become soggy.  Simply putting the baked bread on a wire rack to cool is the best option.  Additionally, never cut warm bread.  The inside of the bread is simply too soft so when you try to cut it, the bread will crumble or squash.  Finally, for a clean cut, an electric or serrated knife is best.</p>

People could purchase this compound in several colors and size options.  Becoming so popular, Play-Doh then went through beta testing in 1957, used by nursery and kindergarten schools.</p>
<p>Today, the commercial product is still widely available however, if you want, you can actually make homemade play dough.  Making your own is easy and your kids will spend hours, creating. We recommend any child, playing with this material is at least four even though it is completely safe.  In fact, you can choose a recipe for making edible play dough so if the kids accidentally get it in the mouth or even swallow some, they would not fall ill.</p>
<p>Since homemade play dough consists of basic dough ingredients that most people have around at any given time, you could whip up a batch in no time, perfect for a rainy day.  Kids love putting the squishy material in their hands, rolling it up, cutting it, pinching, it, and making whatever their little imagination desire.
